Choice Words

  1. Ok, so I don't know if I completely understood this post, since my Arabic isn't so great. My understanding is that some people weren't happy with some of your previous posts. The thing is, this is YOUR blog, and it represents nobody's ideas but your own. So, you should be able to say whatever you want. People representing a business, an organization, a country, etc. have to be politically correct, but people representing themselves and their own idea should not.

  2. Thanks.. I'm just giving Nychick a hard time, but Bo Rashed seems to have lost his sense of humor since Ramadan... or was that another Bo Rashed on Mosan's blog? ;-)

  3. Sorry I don't mean to intrude here, but I thought contributing my own thoughts may add something to this 'thread'.

I personally see that considering other people's criticisms is good. It's a good way of learning. Those who are open to other people's ideas are those who advance to be better people in general. But Zaydoun, please don't do it if you are not convinced. Afterall being too strict takes away some of the joy of writing and reading these posts.

That's my own opinion. If you disagree then just ignore this comment. If not, then I am glad I introduced a new way of looking at it.

Constructive criticism is not meant to be personal. As it's name suggests: it is supposed to be constructive.

Your efforts are very much appreciated.

  5. Suvai, you're absolutely right: Along with the right of free speech comes the responsibility of accepting constructive criticism (thereby respecting the criticizer's right to free speech).

On a similar topic, have you all seen Jon Stewart's appearance on Crossfire from a month or so ago? If not, you can see it at: http://www.ifilm.com/filmdetail?ifilmid=2652831&htv=12&htv=12&htv=12
