A girl I know just told me that Style.com - the website for Vogue and GQ magazines, is blocked by Qualitynet.
And before some geek tells me to activate a proxy connection to bypass Qualitynet, let me just say this.... "THAT'S NOT THE F&%$ING POINT!!"

you know i ordered a steve-o dvd, he is one of the guys from the Jackass show. anyway it went through customs and never came out. all i got was a letter telling me that the dvd was confisicated because the steve-o dvd was a bad influence to children.. no joke thats what was written!
ReplyDeleteQualitynet are enforcing thier site Blocking policy after the latest talk about local pornographic material being distirbuted through Bluetooth and of course the internet will be the victim once again as the evil tool of Satan! Just to clarify things, Qualitynet has NO real control over the blocked sites, hundreds of sites and domains get blocked daily through a third party company which Qualitynet psys for it services, Vogue.com and other sites might share the same domain or ISPs of pornographic sites , so the lazy assholes just block the whole domain and with it dozens of perfectly clean and well known sites!

ReplyDeleteI have the Steve-O DVD and it has alot of X-rated stuff, much worse than anything shown on MTV, I'm sure the guys who screened the video liked it so much...they just kept it.

ReplyDeleteQualitynet Mail servers have been chocked by Trojans for months now and every once in awhile my Norton catches a trojan sent by thier Customer Support dept.!!!
ReplyDeleteYou should be careful they might block your web site without any warning if they feel the comments made here are too Anti-Qualitynet. And then claim you have been publishing Anti-Kuwait messages or worse .
This what happens when A basic service like the Internet which is as important as Water and electricity is under the control of a handful of greedy people. 2004 and we still have to pay more than $300 monthly for a DSL service that is offered free with your phone line in other parts of the world or for $5 in a country like Taiwan!
madm20000 get a shownet account. the speed is 2000kb down and 256kb up. its a dsl/satellite combo. all for just 39kd a month. a 512kb down connection with qualitynet is like 60 or 70kd a month

they get the data to ban sites from a company in the USA , that company use a strict rating method , they blocked elfwood a fan art site , and other sites randomly , and after much e-mails they returned it , the site you linked seem to be back now

How do they expect people to actually express themselves when they're oppressing it?
ReplyDeleteAnyway, I sent their stupid support team an email telling them exactly what I though ot them, and asked them to give me a proxy to get through to the site (because about 2 years back some kind soul was charitable enough to give me a proxy for another art site I'm subscribed to)
I got an email back (exact words by the way)

I called them up this mrning and apparently they've had complaints rgarding the blocking of the site, not only from me, and they say they'll send me an email...what just as helpful as the last one you sent?
What I'm trying to say is....what internet provider, in their right mind, blocks sites for the people who are buying the internet from them, I mean last time I checked the internet was virtually a free go where you like, that's why you have the control of sites to block on your Internet explorer or Firefox or netscape browser! It should be your choice!
And also, they block sites that don't really need locking, but the other day I was reading a news site (that gives you the news of the day) and lo and behold, a whole PANEL of naked bodies on the side, oh joy! Unblocked ha ha, and here they are blocking things like vogue ad stuff. Stupid.
