Ministry of Dis-Information

This is just plain dirty, and I urge you all to spread it around..

I have it on good authority that the broadcast of women's beach volleyball from the Athens Olympics on KTV3 was a deliberate setup to get minister AbulHassan in trouble with the Islamists, who had previously objected to the showing of all women's athletics even before the games began. The previous minister still has his crooked and unqualified appointees working at the ministry whose main job is to make life miserable for the current minister.

Apparently, there are 4 different live TV feeds from Athens showing a variety of games at any given time. Stations choose the feed they want according to audience research, demographics, what the boss wants to see that day, and any number of reasons. KTV3 clearly had the choice to go with live boxing that day, but my sources tell me that the person in charge deliberately switched the feed to women's beach volleyball in all their bikini-clad glory, and left the control room for several hours and could not be reached.

On Tuesday morning, Islamist MP Awwad Barad expressed his outrage over this so-called moral travesty, and just minutes ago KTV3 was still showing women's beach volleyball. The Islamists plan to raise the issue in parliament - as if other more important issues have all been solved - with their usual questions for the minister. They intend to show that regional TV stations all showed the boxing match live from Athens at the same time that KTV3 showed "women in bikinis jiggling their boobs on the beach".

I think this whole dirty setup is outrageous, and I even though I'm disappointed with the minister, he still doesn't deserve any of this!

Suddenly I feel like Matt Drudge!

I'll try to post this again in Arabic tomorrow morning. I'm off to bed now..

  1. Tell your "source" that he is full of it!

I watched the women's volleyball game from the control room yesterday... the control room was busy at the time, and no one had left their stations. If one person deliberately switched the feed to the volleyball game, trust me there are plenty others who can change it back to something else.!

Stop listening to rumors... if the game was on, the minister wanted it that way.

    Goodnight

  2. I don't know about last night, but the source said this happened the first time women's volleyball was shown.
In any case, it could be a rumor but where there's smoke there's fire.

But you know damn well that your spineless minister would not DARE sanction it unless he had tacit approval from higher up!!

  3. ... Unless everybody at the ministry wants AbolHassan to leave. Including you maybe? Hmmmm? ;-)

  4. But here is the question...Does KTV3 receive 4 feeds from Athens like AL jazeera and the rest of the Sport stations? And if they do..who (chooses) the feed at anytime...and Why did KTV3 "control" pick Women Beach Volleyball over Boxing-gymnastics-swimming, while other sport channels like Aljazeera carried the (less haram) and - much more popular- sports at the same time?

I love volleyball myself and I was wondering not because I'm against carrying women sports on KTV3 , its because we havent seen as many women IN-DOOR Volleyball games or even the mens! I have seen to this day 6 full matches in beach women volleyball which were carried on KTV3 - Exclusively!

and I leave you with this paragraph from last week's issue of Al taleea magazine sports page

  5. Interesting that the only Minister that has not been opposed by Islamist sects of the Parliament is Ahmad al-Fahad. Interesting that a large proportion of the employees at the Ministry of Communications are the 'sons of desert' who genuinely dislike Kuwaities with Persian origin, and have strong loyalty to Ahmad al-Fahad (for many obvious reasons).

Oprah in Kuwait, wonder who she met?

  8. Because it isn't true.. Only her crew were here to shoot a segment for a special show she's doing about the lives of 30 women from around the world, to be broadcast later.

They interviewed Zein Al-Sabah for Kuwait. The interview took place at Villa Moda last Tuesday 18/8.

If Oprah was indeed here, trust me it would've made a lot of noise. Even her recent jury duty turned into a media circus!

Keep it clean, people!
