Da Vinci Code Movie

Rumor has it that Tom Hanks will star as Dr. Robert Langdon in the inevitable movie that will be made of this hit novel. I'm not sure he's the right choice. Who do you think should play Langdon?
  1. Liam Neeson
  2. Harrison Ford
  3. George Clooney
  4. Clive Owen
  5. Pierce Brosnan

Who do you think should play Sophie Neveu?

  1. Emmanuelle Beart
  2. Julie Delpy
  3. Nicole Kidman
  4. Naomi Watts
  5. Debra Messing

  2. hhmmm..well Tom Hanks could play an tweedy scholar if her really tried I guess..Clive Owen is an interesting choice, the others are just too old but a younger Harrison Ford would have been great, in his Indiana Jones days..
I could see Beart as Sophie, and I think Naomi Watts can do anything, so I vote her..
I hear there is a real scramble to get the parts, everyone wants a piece of the movie...

  4. I forgot the sublime Angelina Jolie, but then she would probably eat him alive in every scene

  5. Its been awhile since I read the book, so I forgot the names of the other characters, but here are the way I imagined them:

Langdon: Denzel Washington (hey, as far as I recall the ethnicity of Langdon was left open in the books!), but if he must be white I'd choose Dennis Quaid.
    Sophie: Julliette Binoche
English scholar fella: David Suchet ("Poirot"!) - He can portray both likable and evil characters, but I think they'll go with a bigger name, someone like Jeremy Irons
French detective: that guy in "Leon: The Professional"
Albino: Vincent D'Onofrio ("Law & Order: CI")
Louvre curator: Ian Holm ("Bilbo Baggins" from "Lord of the Rings")

  6. الله يقطع بليسك يا أبا حفص

Anti_Reason, I picture Crispin Glover as Silas the albino and Richard Attenborough as Leigh Tibbing. French detective Bezu Fache could be played by Gerard Depardieu or if they want someone better looking, Thierry Lermitte.

I only put Debra Messing's name because she has red hair like Sophie!

  7. I just checked the IMDB, is Tom Hanks in for sure, because his name is now in the cast? As far as I remember, IMDB does not list rumored casting choices??

Anyhow check out the message boards - for a movie that has yet to start shooting, it has 10 PAGES worth of discussion topics! The main topics seem to be Hanks and other potential casting choices - one choice that I found interesting was William L. Petersen - you know, the guy from "CSI".

    Here is the URL:

  8. Please God, not Nicolas Cage!! William Petersen is a bit too dry for this role. He needs to be a bit more animated.

And great choice for Anthony Hopkins as Leigh Tibbing, or did you mean for Jaques Sauniere?
