Hijab

Of all the arguments for or against wearing the حجاب, this one has to be the most... um... original
"I used to wear a hijab until I began to wash my hair more frequently. Then it became a waste of an 80-quid John Frieda haircut."

  1. I want to know if there is one direct verse in Quran about hijab as covering the hair as is known today, and don't refer me to Sunna, coz that does not count in my vocabulary, and I have my reasons, and don't want to elaborate here so I won't diversify from the main subject, I need a DIRECT VERSE no one yet has given me a satisfying answer. This question is to your readers Z.

I really appreciate the way you glean bits and pieces of news and create a very interesting post. It is informative, entertaining, and with just the right amount of links.

I am afraid I will refrain from answering your query and will leave that to the more knowledgeable bloggers in that area of specialty ;)

Rabab, i havent researched on the Hijab yet, i too will only accept only what is found in the Quran, and will go to my English/Arabic Quran with translation & tafseer (its the King Fahad print & i really like how they've made the indeces subject wise and alphabetically).

Please re-read my question, I will rephrase it for you, I need a direct verse of Qoran about 7ijab as is known today. And yes hair does beautify women but not as much as her eyes do.

  9. My God... not one of you found the quote about the 80 pound haircut even remotely funny!

  10. I think it is far more important to cover your butt in Kuwait.

  11. So now the joke isn't funny because a Pakistani woman said it?! You know, if more Muslims had a sense of humor about life..the world would be a better place!
