  10. Oh My GoD! Zed,

Wouldja believe it if I told you, the exact same thing happened with me in Arraya Mall downtown, last weekend? My vision was molested by these two gymming youths of unclear nationality, who had on them sweat shirts declaring - 'I used to be an atheist till I discovered I was God'.
Now look what you've done with this entry - got me really upset over the whole thing. I should have decided there and then, to boycott the Mall where I'd first laid eyes on them or at least, to have boycotted what they were wearing; sweat shirts, if not the fabric actually.
Bo-hoo ho on a wasted opportunity for me!

  11. Excellent article with the same sentiments as many of us regarding the whole issue of Denmark, and muslims taking them selves too seriously.

    WSJ.com Combustible Cartoons

"When Muslims put the prophet on a pedestal, we are engaging in idolatry of our own. The point of monotheism is to worship one God, not one of God's emissaries. Which is why humility requires people of faith to mock themselves -- and each other -- every once in a while."

  14. ib9ara7a shay ifashil. over estimating our powers is what got most of muslim countries into trouble in the first place.
the cartoons are troubling they are racist and yes they are provocative bas lo fi umkum 7'air chan 6alla3taw 3a6'alatkum 3ala isreal mo iddanimark.

  15. imagine the United States or Israel burned our own embassies for the madrassas and mosques preaching hate and the anti-western cartoons in newspapers? these peasants and uneducated buffoons are lucky the west is not blowing the shit out of them and expelling them from their countries.

  17. Due to the phenomenal amount of ruckus created over this Denmark issue, (the coverage of which is annoying the hell out of me), I decided to do some research to see that if we did decide as a country to boycott Denmark, would it be effective? This is the information I got:
    Danish exports (2004): DKK 452,979,000
Danish largest ten trading partners make up 71% of these exports. NONE of these partners are Arab of course.
Kuwait? Well it buys 530,331!! You know what percentage that is of 452,979,000? It?s zero percent!! Zero!!!
    Danish imports (2004): 399,181,000
How much does Denmark buy from Kuwait? 2,443
You know what percentage that is of 399,181,000? Zero percent!!!
This information is from an official Danish website:

  19. Brilliant Zaydoun! This whole ordeal coincides with your previous comment about kuwaities (or arabs in this case) and their love for maseerat, a violant one this time around. I think it's just frustration, mainly because we arabs think we're god's gift to this planet and have noticed lately that we're just BAHAYEM controlled by fascist governments and dictators and could never take our frustrations out on them so we pick on people with more civil liberties knowing that our derriers are safe.

  20. It's really depressing...did you see footage of the poor imam getting shoved and pushed as he was trying to calm the mob and stop them from attacking the barricades...what Islam do they think they are defending with violence and vigilantism? It's just the frustration of the weak and the marginal...the blame falls on every side...mobs don't just turn up out of a void, and they aren't born that way...and when did the Prophet become an idol to be so worshipped? All his insistnce on not turning him into a God has gone to waste..we have Catholicised our religion..all that is left is for someone to preach the trinity..walla 3aib u 7aram.

  21. im not one for conspiracy theories but apprently syria has had a hand in it. now two people are dead in afghanistan. but then handbags have more value over there than human life. i cant believe whats going on myself. while i have seriuos reservations about the cartoons and racism in europe, this is getting out of hand. sig infashil! which makes me wonder. do we really want democracy right now? chinna balawi ra7 ti6la3. hammas, iraq are scary examples.

  23. Garga, scary indeed..but so are some other parties who won in more 'established' democracies...
The problem might be that when we say democracy here it's as though it only means votes and maybe parties...Democracy is a way of life..it's a culture..you practice democracy in every institution and through a developed civil society..unfortunately all we get (and all anyone wants us to get)is half-assed democracy..Very few societies on this planet really practice democracy..even when so many beat their chests and say they are 'democratic'(and even when they pretend to shove it down other coutries' throats)..
I really wonder when and how this region is going to pick up the pieces and really do something right..Allah yastir..
    Very out of hand..

  24. I read a very interesting article in time i think last week. discusing the hamas victory and what would introducing democracy right this minute in the arab world would mean. we lack the education and the correct institutions. even a sense of citizinship is influenced by ethnic and religiuos leanings. and as long as radical islam is percieved to be the voice of the oppressed and the fight against tyranny, the ballot will bring these people to power. while i dont really mind if thats the choice of the people but is it an informed decision? maybe they need to be in power for a bit, screw things up totally and be booted out by peaseful protest, like the communists. with the internet and sms it hopefully wont take 70 years. in the mean time us liberals can set up shop in europe as exiles and direct the campaign from there in the comfort of a democratic society. much like they do now. chinni sara7t shway bil fikra

  25. ma3indi salfa but as my name indicates, ana garga. when i was there i used to tell the danes that they are the kuwaities of europe. small country, rich and arrogant society, screwed by our bigger neighbours and we all hate foriegners. but they are much better looking than us. most found it funny, some wanted to burn down the kuwaiti consulate. just kidding

"Allah is not God"
