Does the Iraqi Minister of Information actually make the stuff up? Or is he being fed it by other people and actually believes it himself? If the former he is a better actor than the bit part player who pretended to be Saddam Hussein in his walk about. Did anyone notice, by the by, the characters in the crowd waving kalashnikovs? What about this story that no one is allowed to carry a personal firearm in Saddam's presence? The only doubt that I have that the thing was a total set-up comes from the little old man who runs up, stamps his foot to attention, Prussian style, and then salutes. I ask myself whether anyone could have invented that and it troubles me. Otherwise it reminds me of the "Springtime for Hitler" number from The Producers. I bet there are people in Hollywood who are already trying to option the Minister of Information.
