Honey Honey!

What the hell is going on with all these announcements from various local honey manufacturers claiming they have the endorsement and approval of the Ministry of Health? In today's Al-Watan on the front page, there's a news item about the ministry issuing a public warning to watch out for false claims by these honey manufacturers, and warns that their honey could even cause liver damage and kidney failure!!

But right under the article is a paid advertisment by the notorious عسل العويد who shot to fame during Ramadan with all kinds of bizarre and false health claims.

It's amazing what people can get away with here. Have we truly become such a law-less country?!

Meanwhile... Kuwait is considered an important honey producer. Who knew?!

  2. **all kinds of bizarre and false health claimss**
as someone with strong background in nutrition i wonder who did bro zaydoun came up with this restrictive assumptions..
KISR, upon payment of course, had issued a certificate that the honey with that brand name is pure with NO addictives and sugars...
so let me weight that again: bro zaydoun OR KISR with its poweful analytic potentials

  3. I didn't make that accusation, Bo Rashed... Remember the noise that surrounded the TV ads in Ramadan? Are you saying I caused it?? I wish I was that powerful!

  5. Well apparently the TV ads were taken off the air, by order of the Ministry of Health because it made false claims. It was not a question of its purity, in fact it's probably very good honey.

BUT... they claimed that it was a cure for many illnesses!

  6. ministry of Health never investigates the effect of any product. all what they do is to make sure that the ingredients on the label are right- period
and this is why if you open alwasee6 u would find plenty of slimming products each of which is with the approval of ministry of health and with unrealistic effects; and this is why people get fooled!
