I'm beat. Zaydoun maybe you should write something about the nightmare of applying for American visa. I was at the embassy at 8 today (Which was my set appointment), waited in a line for 40 minues.. under the lovely kuwaiti sun, then waited for another 2 hours (still outside, but in the shade this time).. then for another hour in an airconditioned room to finally hear my name being called by a blonde american angel (not George Michael's kind of angel) Did I mention that I actually wrote to the embassy over 2 months ago asking for an appointment? And what's with 30.500 dinars fee? Didn't they charge 15 or 17 KDs back in the good old days? Oh.. and then there's another line to stand in to actually get your passport.. this one only took 30 minutes thank god.. It's not even worth the hassle. I'd rather go to Europe :(
Hi pinksuedeshoes, I discovered your blog, Pink Thinks, a couple of days ago. It's pretty fun, keep it up! Anyway, I just read your latest entry, (the one about parks and books), and was about to post a comment when I discovered that you don't allow anonymous postings :(. I have a thing against registering for everything, and a thing against having passwords for everything, plus I love anonymity! ^_^ So anyway, I guess I'll just post my comment to you here, in the hopes that you'll see it: your book list seemed impressive; are you a student of English Literature or something?! Hehehe it made me feel ignorant. I'm halfway through reading Harry Potter :D Anyway, also wanted to give a shout out to Zaydoun, for bringing a bunch of people together on his blog. It's so interesting to see Kuwait through the eyes of different people! I'm recommending Kuwait Unplugged to all my friends, and also Pink Thinks... to balance Zaydoun's acid commentaries with Pinksuedeshoes' sugary effervescence! Heheheh for a balanced breakfast! :D
Hehehe.. You're sweet I wish it was you sitting next to me in stead of that old lady who kept cursing and when i offered her a soft drink said something like "This should give us a taste of how hell would be like".. Scary lol

ReplyDeleteI have been tired for days, but I am relaxed now, I guess, then again, I judge that by my eating habits and other habits.
