I'm not much of a chocolate eater in summer. I do tend to like it in colder weather, and even then I don't go for the fancy stuff like Godiva or any of that. Give me a Mars or a KitKat any day.
However, I am a fan of brownies and chocolate cakes and therefore I urge you all to head to the new Chocolate Bar at Marina Crescent. I had the best brownie I can remember eating; just the right texture and sweetness. The space itself is bright (a bit too bright, actually) yet cozy, and they have a great little terrace with sofas for cooler weather.
Why I am I plugging a new establishment? Because I can!
I never thought I would see a post on this blog about food.
ReplyDeleteI'm betting there's a lot you haven't seen.. :-P
ReplyDeleteDidn't u see my entire list of food related favorites last month? I even have food blogs on my Blogroll!
Nope, must have missed that, too much to keep up with.
ReplyDeleteI haven't been there but from what I know, Choco Bar is:
ReplyDelete1. The only local business amongst international franchises which bombard the crescent.
2. The only place dedicated to Chocolate
3. Most recipe's are authentic
Absolutely correct! I forgot to mention that it's a local business not some flashy brand franchise imported from the UK or Lebanon, and now Dubai seems to be the lastest inspiration.

ReplyDeleteIt could just be a similar - untrademarked - name. I mean it's not THAT original. I know of several "Milk Bars" around the world that have nothing to do with each other..
ReplyDeleteIt looks different and the recipe is different. I like it, though..
Sorry I meant the menu is different
ReplyDeletethe logos are also different

ReplyDeleteHmm... it is called Chocolate BAR. You just wait, some Islamist nutjob will object sooner or later.
ReplyDeleteMaybe we should do a list of "Great Local Kuwait Brands".
ReplyDeleteWe can start with the late, lamented Hungry Bunny, which was replaced by Burger King.
ReplyDeleteThen you have KDD and Petra ice cream. Rawdhtain mineral water.
What else? I've gone blank!
resturant that resemble a franchise but are local
ReplyDelete- batreeq

ReplyDeleteAl-Rifae is not a Kuwaiti brand.

Refai nuts are from Lebanon
ReplyDeletekuwaiti liberal prayer:
ReplyDeleteone day, god willing, inshallah
we all won't be sitting at blogs
talking about chocolate and food,
franchises and where to eat
we'll all be out enjoying our time
looking for people to meet
salafis wont be walking around
with their dirty feet
and wont have to look at their nasty beards...
man are those dudes weird
we'll drink and party all we want
and have a real reason to stay up late
and hopefully my friends
one day this will all be in kuwait
but until that day
we'll just have to wait
amen
batreek does not look like a international franchise. the mcdonalds M logo roated sideways must have confused you ;)
ReplyDeletezaydoun, when A&W was open they changed the name of the Root Beer to Root Drink.
Although Root Beer isnt an alcoholic drink I guess someone islamist must have told them it was wrong to keep the name as Root Beer.
Hey Anon.. whoever you are. Please don't equate "liberal" with drinking and partying. There's a lot more to liberalism than that. In fact, you can be a devout Muslim and liberal in your outook
ReplyDeleteGo back and read what a true liberal means..
anonymous, shutup.
